Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is 76 acres in size, with one public access site. The lake is ringed with private cottages and wooded hillsides.

Boat Launch

Boat Launch- dirt access to a paved ramp, parking for 3-4 vehicles with trailers

Fishing

Fishing- bluegill, largemouth bass, muskellunge (muskie), northern pike (list from lake-link.com)

Access- short dirt access road down moderately steep hill off paved 72nd Ave.
Restrictions- no camping,
Seasonality- access may not be plowed in winter.
Ecosystem- small inland lake with developed margin
Other points of interest- small town services in Hart or Shelby, either one is fewer than five miles away

Driving Directions

From the US 31 Freeway take the Shelby Exit and go east toward Shelby. Turn north on 72nd Avenue in 0.5 mile. The access road to the lake is to the left in 3.2 miles.

Or, from Oceana Drive (Old US 31), take Scout Road (2.5 miles north of Shelby, or 2.5 miles south of Hart) west. Scout is dirt for less than one mile, but becomes paved after crossing Water Street. Scout dead ends at 72nd Avenue. Turn right, and almost immediately turn left into the dirt access road.
